- Visa
- India's e-Visa is not open to Somali passports (checked 15 Oct 2026). There is no Indian embassy in Mogadishu: Somali travellers usually apply through the Indian missions in Nairobi or Addis Ababa.
- Flights
- There is no direct flight to India. Most routes connect through Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Airlines), Nairobi or Dubai.
- Yellow fever
- Check India's yellow-fever list for Somalia and for the country you connect through; if either is on it, carry the vaccination certificate, taken at least 10 days before travel.
- On a paper visa
- Arriving on a sticker visa means India's arrival steps are done at the airport. Our host stays with you through the forms and the queue — the officers decide how long it takes.
- Language
- Our desk answers on WhatsApp in English, 24 hours a day. Somali-speaking cover is planned; until then, a family member who writes English can message for you.
